With the **release of Profit Trailer 2.4**, a few people have expressed the opinion that tools such as PT Feeder and PT Magic are no longer valuable. This couldn't be further from the truth.
**PT Magic** does much more than simply switch between a few pre-defined settings and strategies.
While the addition of the ability to switch between "Bear," "Bull," and "Normal," settings to PT is a welcome addition, it can hardly match the **robust abilities of PT Magic**.
PT Magic can be used to switch settings based on market conditions, but it does this in a much more powerful and versatile way. With PT Magic you are **not limited to three market conditions**, arbitrarily defined by a simple 24-hour trend. You can create as many settings you need, and use **any combination of trends** across **any combination of time-frames**.
For example, you can define **any time-frame you choose**: 15-minute, 1-hour, 6-hour, 24-hour, 3-day, 30-day, etc., and trigger settings changes based on a **combination of those time-frames**. So, if multiple short-term trends are down, but the longer-term trends are up, you might switch to an "IncomingBear" strategy. If the trends across all your timeframes are negative, you might switch to a "SuperBear" strategy. If multiple timeframes are ranging between -1% and +1%, you might switch to a "Sideways" strategy. Or, if the long-term trends are negative, but the short-term trends are positive, you might switch to a "BullTrap" or "IncomingBull" strategy. There are **no limits to the number of time-frames and market conditions** you can define and analyze. And for each of these, you can create a customized global setting.
But the real power of PT Magic is its ability to **analyze and define strategies for individual coins**. Every setting in Profit Trailer that is preceded by DEFAULT_, is a setting which can be used as a coin-specific setting. Using PT Magic you can create as many **Single Market Settings** as you wish, and apply a complete set of coin-specific settings to a single coin. Analyzing the behavior each individual coin, using **any combination of trends you choose**, you might define settings such as "LongTermDownTrend," "ShortTermUpTrend," "Pumped," or "Tanking," which apply a completely different set of strategies, indicators, and values, to be used when deciding to buy, sell, DCA, or move a coin to pending -- or anything else that can be done with Profit Trailer's coin-specific settings. Some people have found that switching Global Settings based on overall market trends no longer necessary, and prefer to focus on only using Single Market Settings to analyze trends at the level of individual coins only.
What PT Magic can do, is really only limited by what the user can imagine. You can create a system of strategies for your bot that are a simple, or as complex, as you like. PT Magic unleashes a whole new layer of possibilities when using Profit Trailer.
